KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Monarchs announced Monday that they have made a transfer of right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau to El Águila de Veracruz. Goudeau started for the home opener last Thursday and played in two games this season, starting in both. Former Major Leaguer finishes his time in Kansas City with a 1.65 earned-run-average (ERA). “He did an incredible job, game after game for us,” Manager Joe Calfapietra said Monday. “That was a key part to the 2023 season, winning big games, then having the opportunity to re-sign him.”
Ashton gave up just one run in all 10 innings of AA baseball he pitched in this season. Goudeau pitched five scoreless innings during the home opener.
Ashton Goudeau will now join 8 former MLB players at El Águila de Veracruz in Veracruz, Mexico.
