ST. PAUL – Sporting Kansas City(2-5-9; 11pts) fell to Minnesota United (8-4-3; 28pts) in a 3-1 result on Saturday night at Allianz Field. A late goal from substitute forward Johnny Russell kept SKC out of a 3-0 shutout.
Three goals from the Loons coming in the 33′ (Tani Oluwaseyi), 67′ (Robin Lod), and 83′ (Kervin Arriaga) to help Minnesota to advance to the number two spot in the Western Conference standings, immediately following the match.
