89th NFL Draft Preview

DETROIT – The NFL Draft is set to take place in Detroit, Michigan this Thursday through Saturday at Campus Martius Park. Coverage will start at 8pm EST on Thursday and can be viewed on ESPN and ESPN2, ABC, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN Radio.

Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jayden Daniels, and Rome Odunze are among other players to attend the Draft in person.

The Kansas City Chiefs will have picks 32, 64, 95, 131, 159 (DAL trade), 173, and 221 (TEN trade). Injuries and inconsistency at receiver hampered the Chiefs’ offense last year, so head coach Andy Reid will surely add another speedy pass catcher to challenge free-agent signee Hollywood Brown, 2022 trade acquisition Kadarius Toney and former second-rounder Skyy Moore for playing time. 2023 fourth-rounder Chamarri Conner has a shot to replace traded corner L’Jarius Sneed, but another defensive back is likely to be selected, as well as a left tackle to challenge 2023 third-rounder Wanya Morris. K.C. also needs a reserve guard to replace Nick Allegretti and a running back to spell Isiah Pacheco. -Chad Reuter (NFL)

Bucky Brooks, an NFL Analyst, in his most recent mock draft, he predicts KC to take cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. out of Missouri. With a 4.51sec 40-yard dash time, slower than the 4.44sec that current cornerback Trent McDuffie ran during the 2022 combine, Rakestraw could still start in his rookie season along side McDuffie after the departure of L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans this offseason.
