Chiefs Rocking in The First Week in St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH – The Kansas City Chiefs started padded practice in St. Joseph today. Here’s a breakdown of the first week of training camp.

60-yard bomb to Rookie Xavier Worthy
On Sunday, Patrick Mahomes rolled out to the left to send a pass down the field to 1st round draft pick, Xavier Worthy. A 62-yard effortless lob by the franchise quarterback in team drills on the first day of practice opened to fans. 

Mahomes gets mocked by Raiders
Kermit the Frog? Las Vegas Raiders safety Trey Taylor and his teammates mocked Mahomes on Twitter by saying “I’m here” holding up a Kermit the Frog puppet with a Mahomes jersey and the Mahomes haircut wig. “It’ll get handled when it gets handled,” Patrick said after being asked about the video.

Mahomes-Kelce Season 8 
The connection between the high school multi-sport athlete and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend is entering its 8th season. Mahomes has found Kelce 589 times for 7,303 yards and 53 touchdowns. A few connections are already in training camp in the first week. They are back like they never left.

Toney in the back field
Kadarius Toney was traded to the Chiefs 2 years ago and helping win the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022. After a controversial season with dropped passes by Toney and other wide receiver has been taking snaps from the back field. Kadarius, 4.39 40-yard dash, a quick receiver and route runner but not super reliable in catching passes.

Training camp continues into August prior to the first preseason game in Jacksonville on August 10th.
