Hardest Schedule Yet?!?

KANSAS CITY – The 2024 NFL schedule was released on Wednesday. The Chiefs are looking to go back-to-back-to-back as Super Bowl Champions after winning over the San Francisco 49ers 25-22. An AFC championship game rematch, Super Bowl rematch, and more. Here’s what to expect.

Week 1: NFL Kickoff on NBC – Ravens at Chiefs on NBC at 7:20p

An AFC Championship rematch will be the NFL Season Opener at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for the second year in a row. This will be Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes’ fifth meeting in the NFL, after both being named starters prior to the 2019 season. After a 17-10 victory for Mahomes and the Chiefs in their last meeting, Jackson and the Ravens seek revenge in front of a nationwide audience. I’m predicting a season opening win after an opening loss last year to the Detroit Lions.

Week 2: Bengals at Chiefs on CBS at 3:25p

Joe Burrow and the Bengals will travel to Kansas City on September 15 for the second game of the season for both teams. Meeting number 6 between Burrow and Mahomes with Burrow leading the matchup 3-2 with the most recent loss for Joe coming last season on New Year’s Eve with a final score of 25-17. My prediction: Loss #1 for the Chiefs in the 2024 season.

Week 3: Chiefs at Falcons on NBC at 7:20p

After an interesting and widely hated draft choice this past April for Atlanta, after picking up Kirk Cousins off the free agency market from the Vikings, the Falcons selected Michael Penix Jr. in the first round. The Chiefs and Falcons have not met since December 27, 2020 with a 17-14 win at home. It’s been eight years since the Chiefs played in Atlanta back when the Falcons played in the Georgia Dome. That game ended in a 29-28 win for the Chiefs. Win number 2 coming for the Chiefs.

Week 4: Chiefs at Chargers on CBS at 3:25p

Chiefs head out west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers for the first of two games this season between these two teams. The Chiefs lead the series 69-58. This will be 129th meeting between these two teams since the inception of the league. Another Herbert-Mahomes matchup and AFC West showdown in Inglewood, California on September 29. My prediction: Win

Week 5: Saints at Chiefs on ESPN at 7:15p

Another four-year gap since the last time these two teams played each other. Derek Carr in his second season as the starter for the Saints after being with the Raiders for nine seasons and being drafted 4th overall in the 2014 draft. The Chiefs have won the last three times the two teams have played, outscoring the Saints 86-74. I’m predicting this will be the fourth win for the Chiefs

Week 6: BYE

After a first five games, the Chiefs get a needed rest before a Super Bowl rematch in San Fran.

Week 7: Chiefs at 49ers on FOX at 3:25p

28-3. That is the record that Andy Reid has as a coach in the NFL after a bye week. The Chiefs beat the 49ers 25-22 in the Super Bowl last season in Las Vegas, becoming Super Bowl champions three times in the last five years, with the first win coming in Super Bowl LIV overtaking the same team 31-20. The year after, the Chiefs lost to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers 31-9. This offseason, FOX announced Tom Brady would become part of FOX’s TV crew alongside Kevin Burkhart, replacing Greg Olsen. Win number 5 for the Chiefs will come in week 7.

Week 8: Chiefs at Raiders on CBS at 3:25p

Raiders will face-off against the Chiefs in the 131st meeting of the series. The Chiefs lost on Christmas Day last year to the Raiders at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium after a 6-game winning streak in the series. Win #6

Week 9: Buccaneers at Chiefs on ESPN at 7:15

Monday Night Football at Arrowhead game 2 will be aganst Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers. Meeting number 16 between these two teams, including one Super Bowl that ended in a 31-9 loss for the Chiefs after the first Super Bowl win in 50 years for the Chiefs. Under the floodlights, the Chiefs will take this win to make there record 7-1 going in to week 10.

Week 10: Broncos at Chiefs on CBS at 12:00p

Nix-Mahomes part 1. After drafting Bo Nix 12th overall this year, he will be named the starter over Zach Wilson. Another AFC West showdown ending in a win for the chiefs for number 8.

Week 11: Chiefs at Bills on CBS at 3:25p

November in Buffalo. Allen-Mahomes is my favorite clash in the NFL Calendar each year. Two highly talented quarterbacks have played 7 times including 3 in the playoffs with Mahomes dominating the playoff section of the matchup 3-0. Loss number 2 for the Chiefs.

Week 12: Chiefs at Panthers on CBS at 12:00p

Sorry Bryce. Win #9.

Week 13: Raiders at Chiefs on Prime Video at 2:00p

Friday afternoon? Raiders-Chiefs on Black Friday for game number 2 of 2 this season, will be a good excuse for a break in the shopping to see a exciting game at Arrowhead. Win 10.

Week 14: Chargers at Chiefs on NBC at 7:20p

AFC West clash in primetime on NBC. This will be the fifth and final primetime game of the regular season for the Chiefs, and the second Sunday Night game of the season. 11-2 record going into week 15.

Week 15: Chiefs at Browns on CBS at 12:00p

Game number 29 in the series with the Chiefs, hoping to extend their five-game win streak within the series to six. After three year break, Chiefs-Browns is back in action. Win number 12

Week 16: Texans at Chiefs on NBC at 12:00p

Game 15 in the series of Texans-Chiefs after a two year rest in the matchup. A 30-24 win in overtime on December 18, 2022 was the last time the two teams faced off against each other. I am predicting this game will be the 13th win for the Chiefs in the 2024 season.

Week 17: Chiefs at Steelers on NETFLIX at 12:00p

NFL on NETFLIX?!? Christmas Day games will now be on TV show and movie streaming platform Netflix for the first time ever. Russell Wilson will be the presumed starter for the Steelers this season after being traded from the Broncos in the off-season. Win number 14

Week 18: Chiefs at Broncos on TBD at TBD

Second and final game this season against Bo Nix and the Broncos will end in a win, making the Chiefs record heading into the playoffs 15-2.

I am predicting the Chiefs to win 15 out of 17 games this season with losses coming to conference, rivals Bengals and Bills in weeks 2 and 11. Excited to see how the Chiefs perform this season after big additions, including Xavier Worthy in the draft and Marquise “Hollywood” Brown off the free agency market.
