Kansas City Current Signs Kenyan Forward Jereko

KANSAS CITY – Kansas City Current announces the signing of forward Mwanalima Adam Jereko. Known as “Jereko”, Mwanalima is the captain of the Kenya National Team, and star of the Turkish Women’s Super League where in 2023 she scored 23 goals including 2 hat tricks. 

“I can’t wait to get to Kansas City and play for the Current,” Jereko said after being signed. “The organization has been incredible with me, and I am very excited to be part of this club.” The 26 year old player helped bring the first CECAFA Women’s Championship final to the team’s game log. Originally selected to the U-17 team in 2015, Jereko soon joined the senior national team.

A big time goal scorer joins on of the top teams in the National Womens Soccer League along side other top scorers like Temwa Chawinga, Bia Zaneratto, and Lo’eau LaBonta.
