Kansas City Current Trades Alexa Spaanstra To Portland

KANSAS CITY – Kansas City Current announced Monday that they have traded forward Alexa Spaanstra to the Portland Thorns in exchange for $40,000 ($15,000 allocation, $25,000 intra-league transfer funds).

Alexa, ended her time with the Current with 2 goals in 12 starts in NWSL play with an additional 5 starts in the NWSL Challenge Cup last season. “Lex has been a great player for this club and a fantastic teammate for everyone here,” said head coach Vlatko Andonovski. 

Spaanstra was the clubs 10th overall pick in the 2023 NWSL draft after a successful collegiate career at Virginia where she amassed 4 goals in 13 appearances.
