Royals Clinch Playoffs For The First Time Since 2015

The Kansas City Royals clinched the MLB playoffs for the first time since 2015.

After losing 3-0 to the Atlanta Braves earlier in the day, all eyes shifted to the Minnesota Twins and Baltimore Orioles matchup after the Royals’ loss. That game ended in a 7-2 Baltimore win.

2015 was the last time the Royals made an appearance in the playoffs. The same year they won the World Series. The two teams have two games remaining to finalize their playoff seeding. The Royals could move up to 2nd or remain in 3rd, but either way, their postseason berth is secured.

The Royals lost 106 games last season, making a big turnaround this season to clinch the playoffs.

The Royals first playoff opponent has yet to be determined.
